About Us

We are the FIRST Robotics Team 138 from Souhegan High School. Our team is comprised of students (grades 9-12), mentors, and community members from the towns of Amherst and Mont Vernon, New Hampshire. Each year our team works hard to design, program, and build a robot to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition. Each year our build season officially starts in January with the reveal of the latest challenge presented by the First Inspire Team for the upcoming competition season. We don’t start then though we work throughout the year, learning new skills, perfecting old ones, and giving back to our community through events like being a part of Amherst’s 4th of July parade, and our robot kicking field goals for our high school team! Our team has been an active part of our community for over 20 years, winning awards, making friends, and opening up the world of STEM to generations of high school students.

The ultimate goal of the SHS robotics team is to create an experience that encourages students to discover opportunities in the science, mathematics, or engineering fields.  Partnering with professional engineers & scientists, the team coaches and mentors provide positive role models and creates an environment to build self confidence. Every student is exposed to important life skills such as commitment, leadership, problem solving, teamwork, and time management.  All of our robots are student inspired and student built.  Most importantly, everyone has fun!
