Comedy Night was February 3, 2024 – Thanks!

Thank you, thank you! With your support, we had a successful comedy night. We hope you had a lot of fun and will join us again next year.

This comedy night and accompanying silent auction is the team’s main fundraiser. We’ve been doing this for 21 years straight except for a year missed due to Covid.

These are professional comedians out of Boston. We’ve asked them to keep the show suitable for a high school audience or PG-13.

Jim Ruberti

Jim Ruberti is Boston comedian and actor who has been entertaining people for well over 30 years, starting as a child in the theaters of Cape Cod performing with Broadway actors such as John Raitt or Theordore Bikel, and progressing into roles as an adult at venues like the Barnstable Comedy Club. He has been a comic fundraising auctioneer and event host for more than 10 years, and a stand-up comedian working stages around New England. As a stand-up, he’s shared the stage with Boston headliners such as Lenny Clarke, Steve Sweeney, Paul Nardizzi, Mike McDonald, Dave Rattigan and Steve Bjork.

Carolyn Plummer

Carolyn Plummer, selected to perform at Denis Leary’s prestigious Comics Come Home stand-up concert for 2022, has been a Boston comedy mainstay for several years. During her career, Carolyn has traveled extensively and to many parts of this country few have dared to venture. She has worked at clubs, colleges, dead animal lodges, theaters and corporations, appearing with many of the top headliners in the business. She has also participated in numerous festivals including the Hampton Beach Comedy Festival, Burbank Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival and The Women in Comedy Festival. “I also won the Woody Herman Jazz Award for my trumpet playing abilities but I’m not one to brag,” she says.

Dave Russo

Born in the Greater Boston area, Dave Russo entered high school at 4’11”, weighing only 79 pounds. A natural athlete, Dave excelled as a member of the wrestling team, becoming his high school’s first ever state wrestling champion and winning “Most Valuable Wrestler” in the state of Massachusetts. At age fifteen, Dave began his career in show business as a breakdancer, appearing in national commercials for Dunkin’ Donuts and Nabisco and featured in a full page modeling spread in the Boston Globe. After high school, he wrestled his way into Wilkes-University in Pennsylvania and The University of New Hampshire on a Division I Wrestling Scholarship, later winning the Gold medal at the Bay State Games. After winning the first annual Boston Comedy Festival, “Best New Comic Award” Dave caught the attention of Mr. Las Vegas, Wayne Newton, who hand selected the young comic out of 5,000 hopefuls to appear on The E! TV show “The Entertainer,” earning Dave a headlining contract in Las Vegas. A regular in the Boston comedy scene, Dave has performed in some of the best comedy clubs in Las Vegas, New York and L.A. Dave Russo is a comedian like no other. He’s a diminutive guy with a big voice, who’s high energy act never fails to leave audiences doubled over in laughter. Dave has yet to meet a crowd that he can’t win over with his charm and upbeat attitude. His quick wit and clever improvisation skills keep audiences on their toes, never sure where Dave’s mind will ricochet to next. His artful storytelling, combined with his flair for theatrics, and killer Robert DeNiro impression has entertained audiences around the country.
