The 2023 FIRST robotics season Charged Up was electrifying! Team 138 Entropy, competes in the New England District Events.
WEEK 1: GRANITE STATE EVENT at Salem High School in Salem, NH March 2-4, 2023
That was how it was scheduled anyway, with an incoming blizzard the decision was made to hold the entire, or as close as we could get to the entire, competition in a single day! It was a HUGE effort by all! Shout out to everyone involved First, Volunteers, Teams, Mentors, and the Staff at Salem High School for pulling that one off! Everyone went straight through, no official breaks, no stopping, from 7 AM until after 9 PM that night.
STATS: Rank 6th, 1st pick of Alliance 4, Finishing in the Semi finals before falling to double elimination.
AWARDS: Innovation in Control Award: “The innovation in control award celebrates an innovative control system or application of control components, electrical ,mechanical or software, to provide unique machine functions. This team is being presented with the innovation and control award. Their drivetrain scheme helped keep them from being pushed around. They demonstrated strengths in enhancing the stability of their robot. Contrary to your team name, which means lack of control, you creatively managed all wiring for full function and protection during play. Congratulations to team 138 Entropy from Amherst, NH.”
WEEK 3: NORTH SHORE EVENT at Reading High School in Reading, MA March 17-19, 2023
The weather was much more on our side this weekend and we got the full two days in and we definitely made the most of it!
STATS: Rank 8th, 1st pick of Alliance 4, won in the Semifinals with a playoff record of 2-2-0
AWARDS: Quality Award: “The Quality Award celebrates machine robustness in concept and fabrication. Building the robot is only part of their success and the judges recognize them as a quality example to others. From the broad swing of their sturdy arm, To standard training for the gray shirts, High quality shows even in the organization of their button box. Congratulations, Team #138 Entropy from Amherst, NH!”
FINAL EVENT: NEW ENGLAND FIRST DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP, West Springfield, MA April 5-8, 2023
90 teams, 2 playing fields, and 3 days of non stop gaming action! There was swerving, racing, cone carrying, cube throwing, power station balancing, weaving, dodging, even some crashing, flipping, and robot launching. It was something! We are pleased with our 2023 season and have set our sights on WORLDS for the 2024 season! We would like to Thank everyone for their support and we can’t wait to see you again soon!
